According to 400th birthday of a greatest Turkish traveler and itinerary writer Evliya Celebi, Oriental Philology Department of International Burch University organized an exhibition on Educational Faculty premises.
In the cooperation with Turkish Culture Center Yunus Emre in Sarajevo, Department of Oriental Philology organized a ceremonial opening of Evliya Celebi's work exhibition today, due to his 400th birthday.
Guests were kindly welcomed by University Rector Prof. Dr. Huseyin Padem and Head of Department of Oriental Philology Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Cetin. An Exhibition was opened by Mr. Nuri Turk Yilmaz, coordinator of Yunus Emre Center, Bosna Sema Educational Facilities Director Mr. Ismail Yapici and the Mr. Rector himself.
An exhibition consists of many photos and original transcripts of the writer's apostilles, from his famous Seyahatname, written in both Turkish and Bosnian language, encircled with a short biografical film. Many Bosnian towns found their place in Evliya Celebi's writings, such as Sarajevo, Mostar and the Old Bridge, Travnik, Blagaj, Pocitelj, etc.
It was one of the successful ways of cooperation between Turkish Cultural Center Yunus Emre and International Burch University, resulting with a one of a kind opportunity for students and everyone interested to gain a cultural knowledge. An exhibition is opened for public until 1st of January 2012.
