Upon the invitation of the Director Ms. Karin Noll, on March 29, the English Department’s MA students Ulku Ayhan and Zeynep Arslan along with Assist. Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, Head of the English Department, visited QSI International School of Sarajevo in the suburb of Vogošća. The visit was incorporated with the English Department’s MA research to examine the cultural and multicultural concepts within course books in BiH, to measure efficiency those concepts, to find whether they are adequate or not, and to learn the solutions in terms of adequacy and efficiency for course books. The IBU team also met with the Director of Instruction Mr.Reza Keivanzadeh, Ms. Hatidza Sadinlija, teacher of literature and writing, and Ms. Susan Orton, 6th grade teacher.
After having an analytical conversation with the school management, the members of the English Department had a campus tour visiting language laboratories, science classrooms, library, music center and computer lab.
At the end, the university's delegation expressed their hope for furthering cooperation on perspective visits involving both parties. As a sign of appreciation, Dr. Akbarov handed a gift to Ms.Karin Noll on behalf of the University and kindly invited all school faculty members to attend 2nd FLTAL Conference in May 2012.
