Second International Conference on Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics (2nd FLTAL) ended on Sunday, with an informal trip to Mostar
Saturday, 5th of May brought an official closing ceremony of the 2nd FLTAL in the Conference Hall of International Burch University. Conference Chairman, Assist. Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, held a closing speech, expressing his gratitude to all participants and those who were involved in the realization of this important educational project.
As an appreciation sign, Mr. Akbarov handed an appreciation plaques to keynote speakers and special quests, Mr. Rod Ellis from University of Auckland, New Zealand and to Mr. Vivian Cook, from Newcastle University, UK, for their effort and the unique spice they added to the event. Also, few distinguished guests were invited to stage in order to share their impressions on the Conference.
Later on, around 400 participants enjoyed a classical music concert of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Ensemble, and performance of the group of artists coming from Netherland. This was the closing point of the event and tomorrow, on Saturday, 06th of May, participants were offered a trip to city of Mostar. Together with the conference staff enjoyed the Old Bridge and the local cuisine.
To conclude, 2nd FLTAL Conference gathered around 400 linguists from 51 countries around the world, who presented 300 scientific works within the 70 sessions and it is, definitely the biggest event of this kind in the region.
Once again, International Burch University appreciates the effort and help of all partners and sponsors, who participated in the realization of this Conference and invites all linguistic researchers to attend the 3rd FLTAL Conference next year.
