Educational and Cultural Trip to Banja Luka

On 16th of July 2012, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, Head of the English Department along with his students visited University of Banja Luka to initiate bilateral academic collaboration


Dr. Željko Babić together with Dr. Petar Penda the Vice Dean of Banja Luka University Faculty of Philology welcomed Dr.Akbarov and his students to University of Banja Luka. At the beginning of the meeting Prof.Dr.Mladenko Sadzak, Dean of the Philology Faculty has greeted the IBU delegation.

The meeting held by the Heads of the Departments and Dr. Penda, focused on ways of starting collaboration between the two universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They found the common ground to work together for the collaboratively conducted conferences, co-published books, student exchange programs and any other activities that are in the field of philology, applied linguistics, ELT and literature.

The Heads of Departments have agreed on possible ways of collaboration to enhance the learning and academic research at the universities and at the end of the meeting both parties exchanged journals, publications and souvenir gifts.

The second day of the trip, IBU delegation visited the largest Catholic Trapist Monastery “Trapista Marija Zvijezda” in Banja Luka and were kindly welcomed by the main priest of the Monastery. Later they visited the small city Kotor Varoš, Doboj and Zenica, including University of Zenica.
