International Burch University, together with the Pedagogical Institute of Sarajevo Canton and the British Council organized a one day certified workshop for English language teachers.
On January 24th, the University was host to about 100 English teachers from primary and secondary schools in Sarajevo Canton. On behalf of the organizers, the guests were warmly welcomed at an opening ceremony by Prof. Dr. Huseyin Padem, Rector, Ms. Alma Vatres, Representative of the British Council, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, Program Coordinator.
According to the previously announced program, language teachers had the opportunity to learn more about the topics of language analysis, essay writing, pronunciation and spelling, as well as classroom assessment techniques, online and mobile learning, and classroom management. All the lecturers were eminent professors from the University of Sarajevo, the University of East Sarajevo, International Burch University and the British Council. In addition, Ms. Emily Armitage from the Embassy of the United States also shared some valuable information regarding Embassy projects in which schools and professors can participate.
At the end of the day, Pedagogical Institute Director Mrs. Dina Borovina expressed her gratitude to the University as organizer, and together with Rector Padem, delivered the Certificates of Participation to attending teachers.
