Third International Conference on Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics (FLTAL '13) has started at Burch University.
From 3-5 May International Burch University is a host of international conference FLTAL '13, which has emphasize on linguistic and cultural diversity in the knowledge society, intercultural and trans-national perspective.
In a welcoming speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, the main organizer and Chairman of 3rd FLTAL Conference, welcomed all speakers and participants in various languages and expressed his hopes that their stay in Sarajevo will be comfortable. Addressing the guests, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Padem, Rector of the University, also welcomed the attendees and gave brief information about the University.
Great contribution to the FLTAL ’13 gave distinguished professor from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, emeritus professor Noam Chomsky. Unfortunately, due his illness, Professor Chomsky was unable participate personally, so he gave a speech by a video-link expressing his great pleasure to be invited to speak at the opening ceremony. Ambassadors of United Kingdom, Italy, Slovenia and Turkey also took part in the opening ceremony, as well as US Embassy Public Affairs Officer, Rector of the Yildiz Technical University, and Rector of University of Sarajevo.
At the end of ceremony a Plaquettes of Appreciation were kindly handed to Ambassadors and distinguished guests. The Conference will be continued with first keynote speech by Rebecca Tipton from University of Manchester.
