Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Scientific Research, together with Sait Dinc, Career Development Officer, paid a working visit to Belgium, Netherlands and Croatia from 27th to 30th of January. The aim was to visit some prestigious educational institutions and discover fields of mutual interest.
The Burch University delegation firstly paid a visit to Vrije Universiteit in Brussel, where they met institution representatives led by Prof. Dr. Jan Cornelis, Vice-Rector for International Policy, and discussed the cooperation possibilities. The Vrije Universiteit in Brussel, founded in 1834, is one of the leading educational institutions in Belgium and a great example of a long tradition and dynamic and modern university.
After the Belgium Akbarov-Dinc delegation visited some of the educational institutions in Netherlands, where they established connections and got valuable information for further research of fruitful cooperation possibilities.
The last stage of the trip was Croatia where the delegation came together with Prof. Dr. Damir Boras, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Zagreb, together with the high ranked officials. Dean Boras and Vice-Rector Akbarov signed a Cooperation Agreement on behalf of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Zagreb and Education Faculty of International Burch University. The Agreement will be a frame for further joint conference organization, exchange of students and cooperation between academicians at the two institutions.
Later Burch University delegation paid a visit to Rectors Office of the University of Zagreb, where they were received by Prof. Dr. Sc. Melita Kovačević, Vice-Rector for Research and Technology and International Office representatives.
International Burch University delegation expressed satisfaction of the international relations and connections established during the Belgium-Netherlands-Croatia trip.
