Assist. Prof. Dr. Sanela Klarić, from Department of Architecture at Burch University, was invited by Heinrich Boll Stiftung to join study visit to Berlin from 16th – 19th of November, 2014 and discuss the process of European Integrations and Sustainable Development of B-H.
Along with representatives of few NGOs from B-H professor Klarić had an opportunity to talk about the process of European integrations and sustainable development of B-H with the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Energy, and the Office of the Chancellor of Germany who are dealing with issues of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At all of the meetings conclusion was that the processes of EU integration in BH are slow and that further efforts are needed, internally as the initiatives of citizens and political agreement of decision makers, and externally with clearer positions and more focused EU representatives.
Besides, Assist. Prof. Dr. Klarić also used the opportunity to meet with the President of the Union of Architects in Berlin, Mrs. Theresa Keilhacker, with whom she discussed the training programs of the Association on the topic of sustainable architecture, as well as opportunities for collaboration in the future.
Within the gathering with fellow architects who have great experience in sustainable building construction, architect Oliver Jirka, who has more than 14 years of experience in the construction of low energy and passive buildings, presented some of his most successful projects, and expressed great interest to share all information about future projects with representatives of the Burch University in the future.
Winner of the prize for the best passive house for 2014 (Passive House Award 2014) and Associate of Technical University of Berlin, architect Christoph Deimel also presented his works, highlighting the object that received the award. He showed great interest for future cooperation between two universities in the fields of the exchange of students and professors.
