On December 12, 2015, the English Department in cooperation with the Association for Applied Linguistics in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AALBiH) and the Department of Languages and Linguistics of Essex University in United Kingdom organized a Seminar on The Role of Age in Primary Foreign Language Teaching given by Professor Florence Myles from the Essex University.
Professor Myles is the current president of EUROSLA (the European Second Language Association), and a professor of Second Language Acquisition at the University of Essex.
In front of the audience of 150 participants, Professor Myles talked about the role of age and formulaic sequences in primary foreign language teaching and second language acquisition. She specifically addressed the issue of computerized methodologies in SLA research.
As a token of appreciation, Head of the English Department, Professor Dr. Azamat Akbarov, awarded a certificate of appreciation to Professor Myles. Her second lecture on the Role of Formulaic Sequences in SLA will start at 4 PM.
