A cooperation between International Burch University in Sarajevo and the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, has existed since 2012, and it has been realized through the development and implementation of common projects, organizing lectures and workshops, presentations of professional journals and books to cooperation in the organization of summer schools.
In 2016, Burch University professors and students participated in the conference "Days of passive houses", which was held for the ninth time in Croatia, from 11 to 13 November at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb. The program that covered topics on the most advanced energy-efficient architecture and building energy standard passive houses, or energy class A + new construction and renovation to "factor 10" through the examples in Croatia was complemented by modest yet innovative examples of projects and geological investigations of our experts. Special attention was drawn by the project of building "Bio-based student pavilion".
The meeting took place in the dean's office, where the Minister of Construction and Physical Planning Lovro Kuščević demonstrated interest in and support toward Burch University projects and the newly opened factory.
The cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb and International Burch University was signed. This marked the beginning of a rich collaboration which will, in addition to existing projects, in a stronger manner, continue to focus on team projects both in the development of teaching and the development of innovative technologies. It will also be a support to the development and harmonization of the necessary policies and legislations for Bosnia and Herzegovina's efforts in joining the European Union.
