Eldin Milak, a teaching assistant at the English language and literature department, is this year’s recipient of the Fulbright visiting student researcher scholarship.
Eldin will be conducting a year-long research project in the United States under the mentorship of Dr. Eileen Fitzpatrick.
The Fulbright program is one of the most prominent and competitive scholarship programs in the world. With over 360 000 alumni worldwide, 52 of whom are Nobel Prize winners, the Fulbright program fosters international exchange and cooperation of highly qualified professionals and gifted students.
This year, out of a large pool of applicants, Eldin Milak was one of the six recipients of the scholarship in the category of visiting student researchers. In the United States Eldin will continue his exploration of linguistic identities in the field of sociocultural linguistics. After completing the program Eldin is planning to return to Bosnia for a minimum of two years.
