Six professors, assistant professors and associate professors who will be teaching at the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering (GBE) this semester were welcomed on Thursday, September 18, 2014. Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanovic, head of the department, and Prof. Dr. Yusuf Turan, dean, said they are optimistic about the new approach and the breath of knowledge and experience the new faculty will bring with them. All professors are distinguished within their fields of expertise with expansive publication records as well as vast teaching and research experiences. The new GBE team entails Prof. Dr. Mirsada Hukic, a full time member, and Prof. Dr. Amina Kurtovic Kozaric, Prof. Dr. Enisa Omanovic, Prof. Dr. Adaleta Durmic Pasic, Prof. Dr. Lada Lukic Bilela and Prof. Dr. Belma Kalamujic as part time members.
The new faculty had the opportunity to tour the GBE laboratory facilities at the university and were overall positive and optimistic about the opportunities of high quality and state of the art research as well as teaching they will have in the upcoming academic year.
Faculty members will teach courses in molecular biology, microbiology and chemistry as well as seminars that focus on more specific topics within the genetics and bioengineering fields.
