Prof. Dr. Gökhan Çetinsaya, Chairman of the Board of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey, along with his associates and a representative of the Istanbul University on 11th of October paid a working visit Burch University and met with management headed by the Rector.
During the visit the activities and projects of the university were presented to respected guests, and both sides exchanged views on the specific and important educational issues. The most important was a discussion about the problems in the field of recognition of degrees in the Republic of Turkey and concrete steps towards simplification of the nostrification process. Prof. Dr. Çetinsaya said that the Board is ready to accept all constructive proposals in this area.
The meeting was an opportunity for examining the possibilities of collaboration among the universities in two countries and joint use of electronic databases in order to improve the educational process. Proposals were accepted and as a last issue was mentioned the topic of distance learning, practical steps in the use of modern technology and determination of the target groups for this kind of education.
In addition, delegation headed by Prof. Dr. Çetinsaya visited the Science Centre, Laboratory of Genetics and TIKA Center for distance learning, where assistants practically presented the activities and details of the work of these units. Esteemed Prof. Dr. Gokhan Çetinsaya was handed a present to commemorate the visit to the International Burch University.
