Informing the Design of Migration Management Studies

IBU InFocus

Despite the recent proliferation of study programs in the field of migration studies, there are presently only three migration management study programs in Europe. This trend has not followed labor market needs, which is one of the reasons why migration management efforts have tended to flounder in the face of increasing migratory pressures. To that end, International Burch University through its Department of International Relations and European Studies and with the support of the Social Sciences Research Center has decided to partner with the University of Sassari in Italy to found a multidisciplinary study program at the second cycle of studies in migration management to leverage students’ previous education in various other fields and produce specially trained graduates. This workshop seeks to engage with practioners in the format of a listening session to collect feedback to inform the design of the Master program, as well as other educational opportunities that can be designed based on the inputs that are envisioned to be collected.
