In the context of the Global Compact for Migration as a holistic and comprehensive intergovernmental document offering states a menu of options from which they can select policy options to address some of the mot pressing issues around international migration and in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s own migration realities and capacities as a singular hotspot for irregular and mixed migrations on the Western Balkans route, Šejla Keserović and Julian Pfäfflin of IOM will present the key policy options, including specifically those aimed at maximizing limited resources and strengthening own capacities, enumerated in the GCM in the specific local context of BiH. They will then facilitate discussion among the participants based on their experiences from the field and identified best practices and lessons learned that can be transferred to the BiH context, aiming to strengthen migration management efforts in BiH.
