Rector of International Burch University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Uzunoğlu, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Rector of Nigerian Turkish Nile University (NTNU), Prof. Dr. Huseyin Sert, on 29th of September 2014 in Abuja, Nigeria. Agreement was signed in order to further the current cultural and educational cooperation between Nigeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as between the two universities.
The partner universities will cooperate in education and research in areas of mutual interest. They will promote direct contact and cooperation between faculty members, departments, research institutions and students.
Specific areas of cooperation between the two universities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Exchange of faculty;
2. Exchange of students;
3. Joint research activities, lectures and lectures via-e-learning;
4. Participation in seminars and academic meetings;
5. Exchange of published academic materials and other information;
6. Use of library resources
7. Special short-term academic programs.
The Agreement was signed during International Conference on Electronics, Computer and Computation (ICECCO 2014), Nigeria taking place between September 29, 2014 and October 01, 2014 at Nigerian Turkish Nile University in Abuja,
Besides that, during his business trip rector of International Burch University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Uzunoğlu, visited Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja, and expressed his pleasure to meet Mr. Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, Minister of Education, Mrs. H. U. Abdullahi, Director Tertiary Education department and Prof. Dr. M. O. Faborode, Secretary Genaral, Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigeria Universities.
Rector Uzunoğlu also visited National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), and discussed the possible ways of collaboration with the director, Dr. Mohammed Sani Haruna. All the parties are hopeful regarding the fruits of the visits and agreements.
