International Burch University, through its Social Sciences Research Center and Continuing Education Center, and ts partner university University “1 Decembrie 1918” Alba Iulia in Romania is implementing an EU-funded project “Developing Career Management Skills among BH Students - DECAMAS”.
In the new job market with myriad equally qualified candidates, what makes recent graduates stand out from the competition is their mastery of a wide array of soft skills, of which few possess more than cursory knowledge of a few. Therefore, the DECAMAS project aims to support university students by developing and implementing, both online and in-person, a set of career management and soft skills courses based on employers’ needs and students’ existing levels of competences, further leveraging the widespread use of student internships to hone these learned career management and soft skills on the job.
This project receives funding from the European Union through its Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance. It is a part of a comprehensive program - Facilitating Cooperation in Higher Education - supporting the higher education sector with three other projects empowering universities to support EU integrations of BiH, introducing student research mobilities, and supporting universities in developing project proposals.
