Prof. Dr. Steppacher spoke about experiences from previous rounds of EU enlargement and provided some concrete, relatable examples about the topic to all participants. The lecture was held in the newly opened Conference Hall on -1 at the BURCH Unversity.
Students and other participants had the opportunity to discuss and get more intormation about the topic. Foundation Konrad Adenauer also shared information about grants and scholarships they give every year and, in that way, provide for the development of society in more spheres than one.
Before the lecture, prof. Steppacher met with representatives of BURCH University, when he learned more about the history of this institution.
Since 1991 Prof. Dr. Steppacher is employed at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, where he becames the Director of European Studies in 1998 and the Head of Department IV (development and support to gifted education and culture) in 2003. Today, he is a member of the German Association for Political Science (DVPW) and member of the Working Group for European Integration (AEI). He has published many essays, books, and other academic works on the topic.
