ELT Spelling Bee Contest Finalized

Spelling bees organized worldwide are a common phenomenon at both regional and national levels in various countries. A Spelling Bee is essentially a spelling competition amongst students and was organized by the English Department.

The IBU's Spelling Bee was introduced in 2010 as a fun and educational way for students to engage in spelling. The program includes activities to encourage all students to engage with spelling and to promote improved literacy in combination with the English classes. The competition was opened to all IBU students.

This year's eight spellers include students from each grade of the English Department. The contest features spellers in grades who were nominated by their classes. The competition started with 6-words written slides that all spellers took. This year's bee will be the first one held in Burch University. ELT Department’s 1st grade student Jasmin Alic received the First Place Winner certificate from Dr. Azamat Akbarov, Head of the English Department.
