Students learned about work of the TIKA agency and the importance of cooperation between the Balkan countries
Dr. Zülküf Oruç, Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) Coordinator for Bosnia and Herzegovina, held a seminar organized by Department of Oriental Philology on 29th of December.
Mr. Oruç started his lecture with history lesson, giving important facts and covering period from Ottoman Empire till former Yugoslavia breakdown, which affected the whole Balkans region and changed the political approach to the area.
Second part of the speech referred to TIKA as a development agency and an extended hand of Turkish foreign policy. Mr. Oruç explained in detail TIKA’seconomic development, labor policy and green energy projects which are done all over the world, as the Agency has offices in Africa, Asia and the Balkan countries as well.
Amazed by the opportunity for work worldwide, students asked about criteria for getting a job and the details about TIKA employee tests.
The end .of the seminar brought an appreciation letter and a symbolic gift handed by Assist. Prof. Dr. Teoman Duman, Vice - Rector for International Cooperation, for Mr. Oruç.
