3rd International Symposium on Sustainable Development (3rd ISSD) has started today on International Burch University
Chair of the 3rd ISSD, Prof. Dr. Meliha Handžić held an opening speech and welcomed around 400 participants that have come to Sarajevo from different parts of the world.
University Rector, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Padem also addressed to the audience with greetings and brief information about University and its success, explaining the importance of this event for the education of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Within his speech, Federal Minister of Energy Mining and Industry, Mr. Erdal Trhulj pointed on the importance of sustainable development, where every subject has the roll and should contribute to the sustainable development in its micro environment.
3rd ISSD opening ceremony was certainly glorified by the attendance of numerous officials, starting with Austrian Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E. Donatus Köck, Ambassador of Republic of Turkey H.E. Ahmet Yıldız, Prof. Dr. Murat Muhamed Ramadanović, Head of the Department of Economic Diplomacy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Özel Çınar, whose effort is highly appreciated.
Grand opening of the working part belonged to one of the keynote speakers Dr. Helen Hasan, University of Wollongong, Australia, with the topic of ‘’Green IS: An Opportunity and Responsiblity for Information Systems to Make a Difference’’.
Sessions will continue up to the evening in all conference rooms and tomorrow, on 1st of June, honorable speaker, Dr. Hal Langford from Texas A&M University Commerce, USA will opend the 2nd day of the Symposium, starting with his session at 09:00 a.m.
