Burch University hosted distinguished speakers and guests at tribune.
The public tribune on inter-religious dialogue was organized jointly by Burch University and European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and held today at 14:00 o’clock at the University. Beside honored invited speakers and guests, the event was interesting for many students and their professors.
In a welcoming speech Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Padem, Rector of the University, welcomed the attendees and stated his pleasure of being host to representatives of all religious communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. H.E. Valentin Inzko also briefly greeted the guests emphasizing that beside the fact that current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is negative, there are values that needs to be preserved, and that efforts for elimination of discrimination needs to be increased.
H.E. Ambassador Edhem Pašić, Head of Office for Special Diplomatic Activities at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Suad Zeljković, Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo, Mr. Senaid Memić, Mayor of Ilidža, and Mr. Viktor Borecky, from Slovakia embassy were some of many guests that delivered short speeches regarding this important event.
President of European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Predrag Praštalo moderating the event introduced keynote speakers:
- Cardinal Vinko Puljic, Archbishop of Sarajevo
- Mr. Jakob Finci, Leader of the Jewish community in BiH
- Mr. Vanja Jovanović, Curate of Sarajevo
- H.E. Ambassador Edhem Pašić, Head of Office for Special Diplomatic Activities at Ministry of Foreign Affairs
All participants agreed that relations between different ethnic and religious groups should be improved in order to show to the world that we belong to the community of European nations.
