International Students Day Held

On 28th of November International Burch University hosted cultural program on the occasion of the International Students Day celebration. The event was attended by representatives of the Embassies of FYR of Macedonia, the Counselor Valentin Mitrovski, and Azerbaijan, Charge d'Affairs Yusif Vazirov and Mr. Fahri Kerimli, management of the Burch University led by the rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Uzunoğlu, and academic and administrative staff, students and numerous guests .

After traditional folk dance performance by group from Kiseljak, in his short address the event organizer Vice-Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, said that one of the ways to contribute to improvement of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to invest in education, which would encourage competition and bringing as many foreign students. In this regard celebration of the International Students Day which affects the mutual understanding and cooperation of all students and other groups is one step forward.

Rector, Prof. Dr. Uzunoğlu said that only by helping each other's work great results can be achieved, and together with students from 20 countries Burch University proves that fact. Rector thanked to all of the participants and guests for their presence and support of the event.

After addressings, the exhibition of Student Photo Contest photography’s was opened, and awards were given to three best photographers. First place won Lejla Kargić, runner up was Šejla Đapo and third place winner was Nejra Mulaosmanović. Representatives of the Macedonian and the Azerbaijani Embassy, together with the Rector handed students appreciation letters and valuable prizes.

Celebration of the International Students Day was realized in cooperation with students from 15 countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Moldova, Macedonia, Turkey, Mongolia and Libya) who presented their cultures, national costumes, cultural and historical tradition and national cuisine, through oral and video presentations, brochures, flyers, and authentic items.

International Burch University organized celebration of the International Students Day with the aim of emphasizing importance of mutual understanding and establishment of cooperation between representatives of different cultures, and learning about our differences.
