Assist. Prof. Dr. Sanin Džidić Appointed as Chairman to BAS/TC 58 – Eurocodes

It is privilege of Burch University that our Professor was appointed for the Chairman position among experts from whole Bosnia and Herzegovina.


International Burch University, Faculty of Engineering and IT, Department of Architecture staff Assist. Prof. Dr. Sanin Džidić was appointed as Chairman to the Technical Committee of the Institute for Standardization BiH BAS/TC 58 - Eurocodes. The task of this Committee is to adopt and implement Eurocodes (European structural codes for design and construction of the civil engineering facilities and works) in construction practice in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Assist Prof. Dr. Džidić headed the Delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the workshop “Adoption of the EUROCODES in the Balkan Region”, organized by European Commission, Joint Research Centre in Milan, Italy on December 5 and 6, 2013. Representatives from Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, FYR Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Moldova, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Luxemburg, Austria and Germany attended this international workshop. During the workshop, Dr. Džidić presented the paper “Current Situation in Adoption of the Eurocodes – Country Report – Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

In addition, professor Džidić will also present two of his papers made with coauthors at the International Conference “Environment Protection between Science and Practice – Status and Perspectives” That will be held on next Friday, December 13, 2013 in Banja Luka, BiH.

The BAS/TC 58 – Eurocodes consists of 17 members and experts from several universities in BiH, business and government representatives, designers and other stakeholders. It is privilege of BURCH University that our Professor was appointed for the Chairman position among experts from whole Bosnia and Herzegovina.
