This conference was a part of Days of Family Law, which has been included in the program of initial training and professional development for 2015 of Centre for Judicial and Prosecutor Training of FBiH, which is mandatory training of judges and prosecutors.
Faculty of Law of University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar, in cooperation with German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation / IRZ, Social Sciences Research Center of International Burch University in Sarajevo and Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of FBiH, organized the third international scientific conference " Legal Remedies For Reduction of Child Poverty", which was held on 27th and 28th of March 2015, at the Law Faculty of the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar.
A professor from the University "Džemal Bijedić" Suzana Bubić in her statement to the press said that the reason for choosing this topic is severity of problem of child poverty and the urgent need to solve it. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to data from 2011, she said, 23.4 percent of children were affected by poverty and so far this rate certainly has increased.
- “Our intention is to contribute to finding or to point out the possible instruments of reducing the problem of poverty, first of all remedies to which we hope will be respected by those responsible for reforms in this area” - said Bubić.
Scientific conference brought together legal theorists and practitioners from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, who presented their views and discussed problems related to the topic. A joint discussion should result in proposals for new legislative solutions to reduce child poverty.
