On Tuesday, 24th of March, IBU Embedded System Design Electronics Club has organized a field trip to Zenica. Twenty-five club members accompanied by research assistants Harun Šiljak (club advisor) and Jasmin Kevrić had a great time.
The trip started by visiting the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, where the club members were welcomed by the faculty dean, Assist. Prof. Dr. Fuad Hadžikadunić, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Amra Talić-Čikmiš. The club members had the honor to be guided through several laboratories of the faculty, in order to get familiar with the work and researches of the students and staff of this faculty and see some actual projects that are currently being developed.
Our members have visited also the Metallurgical institute “Kemal Kapetanović” in Zenica, where they were welcomed by the Director of the Institute. The Director and his assistants introduced the basic working processes and objectives of the institute to the club members. Institute representatives led the club members through many facilities the institute possesses and demonstrated the work of some of the machines in those facilities. The students also had an opportunity to see how the air impurities are measured by an old English method in the institute and see the textures of some materials through a solar microscope.
After the visit has been completed, the club members had some free time for the local bowling center and a tour through the city.
