34th International Summer School of Architecture was held in the Study Centre of the Faculty of Architecture of University of Zagreb in Motovun from 4.-11. of August.
The following topics were covered: planning of public spaces, primarily in Motovun; squares, walls, architectural units (future dormitory) and separate building (communal palace and interpolation), transport infrastructure (access road and stairs - ramps), urban furniture and visual communications, protection of environment, etc., to the recent current issues such as renewal of Istrian railway Parenzana and its tunnels in Motovun. The main topic of this year's summer school was Above / Underground Interpolations.
This year, lecturers and students from Denmark, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia and for the first time from South America - from Chile attended the school. All students earned 1 ECTS credit. Our University took participation for the first time this year, with Abdulmalik Begovic, third year student of Architecture and lecturers: Professor Sanela Klarić and Maja Roso Popovac. Professional presentations of sponsors - the manufacturer of modern building materials, installation systems and equipment were held as well.
During the summer school, students visited old towns Grožnjan and Završje, „Kamen – Pazin“ factory which is dealing with quarrying, fabrication and installation of architectural and building stone.
Students attended the opening of the exhibition of last year's works in Pula. The final presentation and public exhibition of this year school's posters was held on 10.08. at Andrea Antico square in front of the Study Center.
