Internatitional Burch University was a host for architecture workshop „Sarajevo Green Infrastructure“ organized for master students from 25th to 30th of May 2015 at Burch campus.
The first week of workshop „Sarajevo Green Infrastructure“ was hosted and realized by International Burch University, and next week from 1st to 5th of June Forestry Faculty of the University of Sarajevo will implement it in its own premises. The Workshop is being realized in cooperation with the IMLA Programme of Nürtingen and Weihenstephan Universities in Germany, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Science in Sarajevo and Association of Landscape Architects in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For the purpose of working on integrated restoration concepts for Trebević Mountain and cooperating with students within the mentioned workshop an international group of lecturers and students from architecture, urban design and landscape is staying in Sarajevo.
The objective is to analyze and understand the landscape of Trebević Mountain from multiple perspectives in order to develop sustainable and integrated concepts and measures for the mutual benefit of humans and nature. This activity is a direct follow-up of the LE: NOTRE Landscape Forum, that was organized in May 2014 on the same location.
The Workshop is also part of the REACTIVATE SARAJEVO FORUM (May 28 - May 31 2015), which is organized in collaboration with existing local initiatives: the “Architecture Days” of “Lift-Spatial initiatives” and above mentione “Sarajevo Green Infrastructure”, Summer School of University Nuertingen-Geislingen, Germany, together with International Burch University Sarajevo, University of Sarajevo and BiH National Association of Landscape Architects.
The Reactivate Sarajevo Forum will bring together for the first time all parties involved including academia, policy and practice. It will be a chance for all stakeholders to meet, exchange their views on the city and express their strategic vision for the project.
