BURCH University in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo organized the 4th International Annual Students Symposium - a project committed to the constant improvement and development of undergraduate and graduate students.
On 17th of March, 4th International Student Symposium was opened with the ceremony attended by representatives of the BURCH University, University in Sarajevo, University of Pristina, Zirve University, the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, University of Belgrade, the US Embassy, and university professors and students.
Audience was addressed by the Rector Prof. Dr. Teoman Duman; Symposium Coordinator and Dean of Faculty of Education Prof.Dr. Azamat Akbarov; Head of the English Department of Sarajevo University Prof.Dr. Srebren Dizdar and Nathan William Meyer from the US Embassy in Belgrade and president of students Parlament Kemal Nedžibović.
After the greetings and introductory speeches students had the chance to attend a workshop by Nathan William Meyer and learn more about „The Role of English in a Global Society“.
Student Symposium, annually organized at the BURCH University with institutional partners, in 2016 hosted 100 participants, who delivered their research findings individually or as a group. 40 participants come from Croatia, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Turkey, and all state universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina had their representatives. 4th International Student Symposium published their findings in the Book of Abstracts.
At the closing ceremony later today all participants will be awarded Certificate of participation.
