Rusmir Malkočević Set a New National Record at the 400m Race

Rusmir Malkočević, a Bosnian athlete and BURCH University student, again set a new national and personal record at the 400m race.

After the national indoor racing championship, which was held in Belgrade, Serbia, Rusmir beat his competition and set a new personal and national best at the 400m race with a time of 49:66s. This is also Rusmir’s first race this year and a good start to the rest of the racing season.

After winning first place in Serbia, Rusmir competed in Istanbul in the 400m race and win 5th place out of 24, at the same time setting a new national record with a time of 48:93s.

Two days after 27.2.2016, Rusmir also competed at the Balkan indoor competition at the 400m distance and 4x400m relay race, where he won 5th place and again broke the national record with a time of 48:82. Also in the relay race, with his colleagues Semir Avdić, Abedin Mujezinović and Boris Dragoljević, he took forth place and set a new national record there, as well.

“With my inexperience, I missed my opportunity for a medal but I’m happy that I broke my personal record and set a new national record of 48:82s,” Rusmir said after the race in Istanbul.

Just three days after the Serbian Open, held on 1.3.2016 in Belgrade, in the 400m race, Rusmir won first place with 49:15s. This is also the last indoor competition of the season.

As soon as next week, Rusmir expects preparations for the outdoor competition to begin.

Much luck.
