Tajra Hadžić, a second-year student of International Relations and European Studies and a member of Burch Diplomacy Club, actively participated in the Sarajevo Model United Nations conference, which took place on Thursday, September 21st to Sunday, September 24th.
Tajra participated in the UN WOMEN deliberative organization, which is dedicated to advocating for women and women’s rights in international arenas, as well as other, more domestic settings.
The participants of UN WOMEN, including Tajra Hadžić, considered two topics: how to eradicate the gender gap through education and women empowerment and the relationship between women and sustainable development goals.
“It was a terrific experience that allowed me to see what it’s like to represent a country in such a prestigious international organization, including its views with which I don’t necessarily agree, especially for one day I may actually be representing my country in such an organization”, said Tajra.
This is the second year in a row that Sarajevo Model UN Conference is being organized and the second year for the International Burch University to be represented at the conference.
