On Wednesday, April 26, Burch University was visited by his Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, H. E. Andrzej Krawczyk.
Mr. Andrzej met with the Rector, Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović, and Vice-rector, Assist. Prof. Dr. Sanela Klarić, where they discussed the current state of the university and its future plans. The ambassador was also presented with activities of our students and their perspectives of International Burch University’s educational system.
Students had the opportunity to listen to a lecture about the Polish transformation, and the phases it took in the past in order to become a successful member of the EU family. This part was especially interesting because Mr. Krawczyk was a member of the negotiating team for the EU integration of Poland. Therefore, he was able to convey not only theoretical but practical knowledge as well.
As a historian, the ambassador filled his presentation with many anecdotes and important lessons that studying of history brings. At the end of his lecture, he discussed the major problems that our country is facing with students and, even more important, about their possible solutions.
Finally, the ambassador was provided with a private tour of the university, where professors and students from other departments and faculties shared their current activities and results of many interesting researches they have conducted.
The event was concluded with words of gratitude for the visit, and also with hope that the friendship between the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and International Burch University will last for many years ahead.
