Burch Finance Club and the Center for Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance organized a "Crash Course on Islamic Banking“ at Burch University premises.
The lecture led by professor Velid Efendić gained interest of many students who took active part by discussing important issues within the field of banking, paying special attention on topic of Islamic banking.
Main aim of the course was to familiarize the students with the basics of the course topic, present current trends in the field as well as possibilities and obstacles for implementation of Islamic Banking principles.
The lecturer, Prof. Efendić, talked about Islamic economic system, financing models of Islamic banks, and other important issues related to this sector. Besides professor Efendić, Mr. Anes Prentić also introduced the students with the development of the banking system and Islamic banking in Bosnia and Herzegovina, through its begining stages and until today. Students were introduced with the background and vision of the Center for Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance.
The lecturers fully met the expectations of the young audience, and at the end of the course received certificates of appreciation and gifts from the Club. Also, students who took part of the course received certificates for their attendance, and all left the Burch University conference hall enriched with valuable knowledge gained on this very interesting event.
