Today, December 13, 2017, Students Association of Faculty of Education (SAFE) hosted an interview with three successful women in BiH.
Three guests were Sanela Prašović-Gadžo - a well-known B&H journalist, Lejla Tanović - mountain bike racing and road cyclist, and Senka Čimpo - a psychologist, gestalt psychotherapy, and a member of the scout movement.
The topic of discussion was: “How to be successful in both, work and private life”.
Mrs. Sanela talked about her life as a journalist, her various experiences as a reporter in the time of war, and how she manages to balance her work with her private life and her family. She also commented on how she deals with negative comments and remarks aimed at her and gave advice to students to always speak their mind fearlessly.
Mrs. Senka talked about her work at SOS children’s village that she has been a part of for 10 years now. She then noted the importance of child self-growth and how being a member of a scouting group helps them achieve that. On the question about how she deals with emotions that her job as a psychologist brings, she replied that sometimes it is hard to listen to the stories of her clients without being influenced by them emotionally, however, it is important to stay professional at all times.
The youngest guest was Miss Lejla; the first cross country cyclist from Bosnia and Herzegovina to sign a contract for a professional cycling team. She talked about her beginnings in the world of cycling, her ups and downs, and how difficult it is to balance her sports and social life. This young sportsman then shared a motivational story of how she was on the edge of giving up and falling into the circle of negativity, but then realized that the only way to success is to continue moving forward and to think positively.
At the end of the discussion, the dean of the Faculty of Education and Humanities, Assist. Prof. Dr. Senad Bećirović presented the guests with a certificate of appreciation, adding how young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina ought to be more confident and courageous.
