Knowlead: Our goal is to be the first.
Guiding idea is to convert non-formal education in formal, and to open space for the generous sharing of knowledge which is transferred to the young generations.
Today, the Rector's Cabinet Office hosted Knowlead social media platform representatives, who are also students of Burch University, accompanied with their mentor, Senior Teaching Assistant Malcolm Duerod, where everyone had pleasant conversation with Rector of International Burch University, Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović.
Students, Ekrem Nurović, Haris Botić, Amer Zavlan and Ejub Hadžić, secured placement at the world finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup competition which will be held in July 2017, at Seattle, USA. This is a extraordinary opportunity both for their training and for good networking with key people in the IT industry, and, of course, the opportunity to fight for first place of this cup but at world level, which for main prize have amount of $ 100,000.
Imagine Cup is a global contest that encourages new generations of students to gather together and use their creativity, passion and knowledge to create applications that form the various segments of human life, where the presentation of the best projects from Balkans was held in Zagreb, on May 12, 2017. Microsoft Imagine Cup project this year gathered the top five teams from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatian, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
Ekrem Nurović, founder of the online learning platform "Knowlead", said that this is a remarkable opportunity to enter a wider market in order to further present opportunities offered by this platform.
"Microsoft has recognized our work and chose us to introduce ourselves to the competition which is being held in Zagreb from 10 to 13 May. This is an excellent opportunity for further progress, to meet with similar people who work at Microsoft and to make it to the world competition scheduled to be held in the United States. Our goal is to be the first because we would ensure $25,000 which is the first prize. This would considerably speed up the entire work on this project and allow us to hire more people", said Nurović, before the announcement of the winner.
"We, at International Burch University, are committed to applied knowledge which is the only way our students can start thinking about business and thus the creation of their own. We are very happy and pleased with success of our guys and they are just one of the teams from International Burch University which keep adding achievements, and all of them are something that we strive and fight for at Burch University. Our commitment is not only to transfer knowledge to students but to be their mentors and support in the application of acquired knowledge in real life. With the help of our professors from Burch University, these guys started their own start-ups and already achieved great success. Now we will support them in their show in Seattle, and I am sure that our cooperation will continue to be successful when they became experts, businessmen and model for future generation", said Rector of Burch University, Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović.
Our awarded students were hosted in the Rector's Cabinnet Office at Burch University, where they shared their experiences from the event held in Zagreb with great dose of enthusiasm and also shared their future steps when it comes to the platform. One idea is to convert their non-formal education in formal, and allow them space, and opportunity, to share their knowledge and transmit it to other younger generations, and thus to a new future Knowlead employees.
Rector of Burch University Prof. Dr. Damir Marjanović, sincerely congratuleated and expressed his gratitude to the students for winning the first place and expressed his further support to the whole team, which has not lacked from the beginning of this wonderful and creative idea, "Knowlead" online platform to share knowledge.
