The end of the winter break for high school students was crowned with a special event that took place at the premises of the International Burch University in Sarajevo. Namely, Burch teams in cooperation with the work of the Association of High School Students in B&H (ASUBiH) have prepared a unique event for high school students from all over the country.
Of course, we are talking about the well-known Start-Up competition for high school students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina who stayed in campus of the International Burch University in the period from 26 to 28 January 2018, where they, alongside with professors and experts from prestigious worlds universities, talked about entrepreneurship, creating a business climate and developing a startup business. The professors of the International Burch University and eminent world experts had to provide answers, this time, to not an easy question of high school students who were ready to develop their business plans at any time, transfer the idea into work and lay new foundations for our society.
"Students from many Bosnian towns during the weekend stayed at the International Burch University, this time with us were hundreds of high school students from 25 cities across B&H. Our goal was to simplify, strengthen their will and desire for success, and direct them to develop their own business plan. Additionally, we had a nice obligation to teach those who may be ashamed to learn how to present and test their business ideas with strong self-confidence. This time, the Start-Up competition was organized in cooperation with the Association of High School Students of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ASUBiH), which gathered valuable students. We should not ignore the fact that even three winning teams have been invited to participate in the Lean Startup Academy of Burch University, through which they will further learn more about entrepreneurship and the development of their own ideas in business. But this is not all, the winning teams also received valuable scholarships from Burch University. Anyhow, it is important to mention the winners of electrical schools among which the first team was SMARThome from Tuzla and the e-Wash team from Mostar. The third place was occupied by the team of The Developers from Donji Vakuf", said dean of students of the International Burch University, Admir Salihagić.
The enthusiasm, the tendency, and commitment of high school students to develop and present business ideas were in the first place. Start-Up Competition, which was a clear indication that investing in developing entrepreneurial awareness among the young population is the direction to go. Burch University is now more committed to contributing to this noble idea as a leading entrepreneurial university.
"I am convinced that the world will hear for five or six years the names of the young people with whom we spent the perfect three days. These young people, if they continue to work as they do, will be destined to succeed, and we will follow their careers with great interest. It was an honor for us to be the first step in their entry into the world of entrepreneurship", added dean of students, Admir Salihagić.
