Invited by the INALCO institute and Sorbonne Paris Cité, the Head of the Department of Architecture at IBU, Assist. Prof. Dr. Emina Zejnilovic gave a lecture titled ‘Cultural Heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Historical Context, Cultural Influences, and Architectural Values’.
Professor Zejnilovic held a presentation on the history of residential development in Sarajevo and cultural influences on the architectural development.
For the first time, the cultural and architectural heritage of BIH was discussed at this prestigious academic institution. The aim was promotion and affirmation of rich cultural heritage at an international level.
Seminar was attended by the professors and academicians of Sorbonne Paris Cite University, as well as by professors of other schools of architecture in Paris: École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture Paris – Malaquais and École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris – La Villette.
Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maja Popovac and Assoc. Prof. Fr. Merima Šahinagić-Isović from University ‘Džemal Bijedić’, also participated in the seminar. Professors made presentations on the overview of the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, focusing on the Old Bridge in Mostar, and traditional materials in BiH.
