On the occasion of his 20th reunion graduating from the top business school in the world, our board member and manager of the Burch Student Incubator, Malcolm Duerod, visited the Harvard Innovation Lab. The goal of the visit was to better understand the keys to the success of Harvard's Innovation Laboratories.
One key which we also have as part of IBU is support for Alumni (former graduates). As the website says "The Harvard i -lab is a resource available to all current students from any Harvard school who is looking to explore innovation and entrepreneurship at any stage."
Other important aspects of the innovation lab are their workshops, access to startup funding, and annual president's competition. Resources such as the AR/VR studio, Maker studio, Media studio and plenty of meeting room space allow new teams to grow into successful companies.
Finally, teams that enter the program have access to industry experts in areas such as sales, product design, marketing, PR and communications, legal counsel and fundraising.
“First stop was the technology lab home of Launch X. Next, I visited the Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab for Biotechnology startups”, said Malcolm.
"We have the biotech laboratories and creative workspaces on the IBU campus, so join us and see what we can build together for your future and the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina."
Malcolm met with Thomas Eisenman co-director of the Rock Center for Entrepreneurship and heard presentations from the world-renowned professor of venture capital finance Dr. William Sahlman as well as noted professor and technology consultant Dr. Linda Applegate. All were encouraging and open to share curriculum and help to implement the modern techniques used at Harvard Business School.
