At the end of January 2018, the University of Applied Sciences in Nürtingen (Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Umwelt Nürtingen-Geislingen) held a final presentation of student solutions for the reconstruction of the campus space of the University of Sarajevo.
The work on redesigning the campus space began in October 2017, during the international workshop "Sarajevo University Campus: The Power of Open Space", when more than 60 students from four universities gathered. Apart from the students of the University of Sarajevo, students from the International Burch University in Sarajevo and students of the International Master of Landscape Architecture (IMLA) of the Nürtingen-Geislingen University and Weihenstephan-Triesdorf from Germany also took an active part in the project.
The workshop was characterized by a pronounced international character. Students from more than 20 countries of the world have been staying in Sarajevo during their work, having the opportunity to share knowledge, ideas, heritage, as well as to share experiences in the development of campus reconstruction solutions. Seven solutions for the renovation of the university campus were presented, which were inspired by natural values, cultural heritage, topography, sustainability elements and the needs for change.
The results of the quarterly work will be submitted to the Center for Construction and Maintenance of the University of Sarajevo Campus, which should contribute to future studies and the development of space as the center of science, education and development of the society.
