On Tuesday, November 13th, 2018, SAFE (Student Association of Faculty of Education and Humanities) organized a charity bazaar in cooperation with two groups of children and their teachers from Richmond Park International Primary School. The mission was to raise money for a boy named Emir Buza.
Emir is a nine-year-old boy from Sarajevo, who has a rare condition – Lymphatic gland cancer and is in need of help. Students, parents, and teachers of Richmond Park International Primary School decided to prepare homemade pastries and hot beverages and sell them at the International BURCH University.
The bazaar was held at the International BURCH University and children’s laughter and the amazing food they prepared brought everyone – from students to professors – over to their table.
A Primary school teacher Sanela Klačar, who organized the event alongside with SAFE, was overwhelmed by both the idea and the success of the event. She said: “It is a pleasure to work with SAFE, and I thank them for organizing this charity bazaar. ‘When little hands work together, anything is possible’ can be the motto of this little project with a big mission. I am extremely glad that young people are interested and willing to be a part of this project, and hope to work with SAFE again in the future.”
SAFE’s president, Berina Šijerkić, said, “I want to thank the kids and the teachers, who put so much effort into raising as much money as possible for little Emir. Special gratitude goes to all the students and staff of the University, who have shown how charitable they are.”
All members of the Association expressed their satisfaction with the good organization and the result achieved by the motto: "Don’t have the heart just to have it, but to give it to the others!"
