Representatives of International Burch University, lead by Timothy Donald Fisher, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IBU, responded to an invitation from the UK Ambassador in B&H, Matthew Field, and his wife, Martina Field-Klisović, to attend a celebration of 93rd birthday of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. At the same time, this occasion marked a celebration of 25th anniversary of British diplomatic mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The invitation is normally sent to friends, partners, and collaborators, as alleged from the Embassy. After 25 years of work, they continue with their mission encompassing an assortment of areas, including economy and international security. Their goal is to continue to further develop and nurture relations between the two countries on a wide range of political, commercial, security and economy related areas of interest for both sides.
The British Queen, Elizabeth II, celebrated her 93rd birthday at the end of April in Windsor castle. The Queen celebrates this occasion twice a year: on the exact date when she was born, surrounded by her family, and officially, at the ceremony which is traditionally held in June due to better weather conditions. This simultaneously provides an opportunity for all British citizens, regardless of their whereabouts at the time, to celebrate this day through observing British music and culinary traditions, and feel at home, even if for a brief moment.
The Queen’s actual birthday is on April 21, but it has been celebrated in June for over 250 years, alongside a formal military parade known as "Trooping the Color".
Queen Elizabeth II was born in 1926 in London. She was crowned on June 2, 1953. On December 21, 2017, the Queen became the oldest reigning British monarch, having taken that honour from her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.
