The basketball club Igman was one of the icons of both Sarajevo City and the Municipality of Ilidza throughout their histories. The Youth Basketball Club Ilidza was founded on 20 February, 1970, and competed in the BH's Second Republic League.
The Club has been performing under the name KK Igman since 1972. In 1976, the Club became the first league player to achieve the greatest success in the history of basketball in the former Yugoslavia, which at the time was world champion, European champion, and Olympic champion. BC Igman was a three-time junior BiH champion in youth selections, representing BiH at the national championship from 1972 to 1975.
For the 2002/03 season, the cadets won first place in the BH state championship. The senior team won the A1 league in 2008/2009 and advanced to the BH Premier League playoffs.
