ONLINE PROMOTION OF "WOMEN AND WORK: FEMINISM, WORK, AND SOCIAL REPRODUCTION" AT IBU

At International Burch University, the promotion of the publication "Women and Work: Feminism, Labor, and Social Reproduction" took place, translated into Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian as part of the UNIGEM (University and Gender Mainstreaming) project. This significant book, introduced as part of the initiative for gender equality, provides a critical perspective on the intersections of capitalism, unpaid labor, and social reproduction.

The discussion during the promotion was dynamic, focusing on the book's main theses, including:
- How capitalism shapes women's labor, often marginalizing their contributions through unpaid and undervalued work.
- The role of social reproduction in the capitalist system, highlighting how domestic work, childcare, and eldercare remain invisible despite being essential to sustaining the economy.
- A critique of traditional feminist approaches to labor, which often overlook the interconnections between economic structures, gender, and class relations.

The promotion offered an opportunity for a deeper understanding of the challenges women face within the capitalist system, particularly regarding inequalities in working conditions and unpaid labor. The publication also presents alternative approaches aimed at broader inclusion and recognition of women's labor as foundational to social and economic stability.

This event brought together the academic community and the wider public, making a significant contribution to the discourse on social justice and gender equality.
