The University of Leon is a Spanish public university with campus in Leon and Ponferrada. The germ of the university is found in 1843, when the Normal School for Teachers or Masters Seminar of Public Instruction was created. Additionally, the subaltern school of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1852, laid the foundations of Leon future university. The cities of Loen and Ponferrada are historical cities but at the same time current and endowed with the most modern services and have a high university population. All who have visited them enthusiastically speak of their experience and those who have lived in them agree that day-to-day life is comfortable and pleasant. Both institutions and society are proud of the University of Leon and collaborate closely with us in multiple projects and initiatives and, in turn our university community actively participates in local life.
