The IBU Office for International Cooperation and Projects organized a number of staff mobilities to universities in Latvia, Greece, the Netherlands, and Poland in June.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lejla Odobašić Novo visited Riga Building College in Latvia during the second week of June. During her stay, with professors, she discussed teaching methods and new technological tools used at this university and visited Sample Material Library and Material Testing Lab. This experience has provided her with much helpful information: she learned about sample testing, how to set them up, and talked about the possibility of future collaboration with professors and the establishment of a Sample Material Library and Material Testing Lab at IBU.
A week after, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Sayed also visited Riga Building College. He attended workshops, and students’ graduation defenses, visited laboratories and had various discussions with students working on Stone Conservation. He gained a lot of practical knowledge, which is useful for the improvement of the current syllabus, and future EU funded projects.
During the same week, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jasna Hivziefendić and Prof. Dr. Jasmin Kevrić, together with a Ph.D. candidate Mehrija Hasečić, have visited the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jasmin Kevrić gave a lecture on Artificial Intelligence in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jasna Hivziefendić gave a lecture on Multi-objective optimization in Smart grids, both for MA students. They also presented new educational material developed within ELEMEND master's program. Moreover, they visited three laboratories at the host University, had useful discussions and research activities, and defined a mobility plan for the final third year of the KALCEA Erasmus+ capacity building project. Altogether, this mobility increased the level of competencies, practical experiences and research approaches in the field of Smart grids and AI, and made sure that the implementation of current projects between NKUA and IBU runs smoothly.
