Erasmus+ Staff Mobilities in May and June: Lithuania and Spain

Assistant Professor Lejla Ramić Mesihović from International Relations and European Studies spent her Erasmus+ staff mobility at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania. During her stay, Assistant Professor Lejla delivered a lecture on relations between the EU and the Western Balkans, attended a discussion with a representative of Donjeck University from Ukraine, attended the Masterclass on importance of social media, online tools and visual learning, and attended the lecture on future role of universities, which was delivered by a Journalism Professor from Kaunas. This exchange offered her an opportunity to be in one of the current geopolitical hot spots, she benefited from being exposed to new teaching techniques that are directly useful for IRES. Furthermore, she made new contacts that contribute to inter-institutional cooperation and participation in Erasmus+ exchange programmes.

After his visit to Spain, Ljubomir Todorović, MFA, from the Department of Graphic Design and Multimedia, decided to be a part of another Eramus+ staff mobility programme. This time, he visited Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania. There he had a chance to hold a lecture on Street Art – Mural Painting in an amphitheatre full of keen students from different departments. Professor Tomas Mindauskas gave him a tour of Faculty of Visual Arts, during which Mr. Todorović established valuable connections for potential future projects and cooperation, as well as scouted the classrooms for some useful ideas for IBU.

During the months of April and May, Spain was active in terms of staff mobilities and International Staff Weeks. One of such International Staff Weeks was held in Leon, Spain and it was attended by our Teaching Assistant Kenan Kadušić, from the Department of English Language and Literature. During his stay, Kenan not only explored Leon and the cities around like Ponferrada and Astroga, he also increased his Spanish language skills, reinforced cooperation with a partner institution, and expanded his professional network. Alongside Spanish language course organized by host institution, Kenan attended workshops, lectures held by professors from Poland, Hungary and Chech Republic, as well as EURECA-PRO project / Cross cultural activity lecture.
