International Burch University and Volleyball Club Ilidža signed a cooperation agreement today, which will result in joint action to provide young people with the opportunity to combine quality education and sports ambitions. By signing this contract, International Burch University agreed to provide scholarships to all OK Ilidža members who chose to study in one of IBU's study programs. Furthermore, the university and the club will support one another through various activities.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mersid Poturak, Rector of International Burch University, and Emir Memić, President of the Volleyball Club Ilidža, signed the contract.
"In addition to scholarships awarded based on knowledge and performance in high school, our university also provides sports scholarships to students who wish to continue playing sports while also studying. We are pleased that we have established this collaboration with the Volleyball Club Ilidža, and that through joint activities, we will enhance our services to students and give aspiring young athletes the chance to get a scholarship ", said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mersid Poturak.
During the contract signing, the President of OK Ilidža Emir Memić stressed how important this accomplishment is for both the club and the municipality of Ilidža.
"We will do our best to organize a show camp in January when we will bring all of the most promising boys and girls who want to study in BiH to our municipality, to train in OK Ilidža, and study at IBU, where they will gain additional benefits in the form of scholarships. We have already received inquiries from colleagues and players living outside of Sarajevo about coming here because they recognized International Burch University as a great opportunity for an excellent education and the Volleyball Club Ilidža as a place to continue their sports activities. Therefore, I would like to thank the rector and the university, and I hope that we can improve our cooperation and enhance our partnership for as long as possible, " said Emir Memić, president of OK Ilidža.
The collaboration between IBU and OK Ilidža will result in excellent opportunities for young people who want to train and actively participate in volleyball while also pursuing a high-quality education.
