The Office for Scientific Research and International Relations in cooperation with The Association for Applied Linguistics in B-H organized a Linguistic Workshop for undergraduate and graduate students on 20th of March. The Workshop hosted two experienced professors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amira Sadiković, from University of Sarajevo, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nebojša Vasić, from University of Zenica.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amira Sadiković from University of Sarajevo delivered a lecture “Translator in the Modern World: Does Theory make us Better Translators?”, where she talked about laws of translation, dangers, strategies and gave few translation examples of Ivo Andrić’s and Meša Selimović’s pieces as an illustration for good and argumentative translations.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nebojša Vasić from University of Zenica talked about “Speech Making and Presentation in English Language Teaching”. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasić used metaphorical comparisons for enlightening the topic and explained some commonly used expressions, also giving practical advices and showing qualities of a good speaker on his example.
Students of both study cycle together with academic staff of the English Department thanked for interesting lectures and Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov expressed appreciation on behalf the University handing gifts to guest lecturers.
Vice-Rector Akbarov also delivered the last topic of the workshop “Meaning Equivalence in Multilinguistic L2 Learning”.
