This is the first Model United Nations Conference held in Sarajevo. It is an academic simulation of the different bodies of the United Nations, the European Union and the World Health Organization, and will be held once a year.
Its participants took on the role of a diplomat of one of the member countries and participated in the simulation of these international bodies through the three days of the conference.
During the conference, participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures by Prof. Dr. Mark Albert Farha of the Doha Institute about the problems in Syria, and by Mr. Emir Kremić, Director of the Agency of Statistics, who gave a lecture on the topic “Cyber security and cyber-attacks on government agencies.”
This year’s Model Security Council focused on the crises in Syria and Ukraine, while the European Council focused on the migration crises and outlooks for post-Brexit EU.
Members of BURCH Diplomacy Club shared their experience and knowledge with other colleagues of the Department of International Relations and European Studies at BURCH University.
