The 10th INFIMA Winter Camp for 140 Best Mathematician and Physicist



Burch University again had a pleasure being a partner to such a great event organized by the International High School in Sarajevo. The 10th INFIMA winter camp brought together 140 talented students from primary and secondary schools. Among the participants were young people from 35 cities from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of a six-day camp, the participants were divided into groups according their age, knowledge and respective field, where students had an opportunity, prior classes itself, to listen the lectures presented by former competitors in fields of mathematics and physics, and some of these lecturers are now successful students in Bosnian as well as other world renowned universities.

“This was a great experience for me and my friends. Firstly, we all met new people, made friendships and new contacts, but also we had a chance to gain a lot of new knowledge and valuable information. Here I met friends from different parts of B&H, with whom I look forward to meet at the local, and also at an international competitions”, said participant from Tuzla, Jelena Pejić.

Every day and after classes, participants were taking a three-hour test in their fields, whose results got summarized and at the end of all tests, the best of the best were selected and received well-deserved recognition.

“INFIMA camps have been maintained for ten years with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of gathering of young intellectuals, and providing support to them during the preparations for local and international competitions in mathematics and physics. We’re pleased to see that INFIMA camps, which are held four times a year, see an increasing number of young people every year. Future plans are definitely to bring the talented young participants and lecturers from the former Yugoslavia”, said Mr. Hermin Kapetanović, member of the Organizational Committee of INFIMA winter camp.  

Representatives of the hosting institutions emphasized their satisfaction with the organization of the tenth winter INFIMA camp, and that in the coming days plan is to begin INFIMA summer camp preparations which is to be held in August 2017, and all interested individuals are invited to contact and check out INFIMA Facebook page for all details.
